Massachusetts is a national clean energy leader. The state recently won recognition from ACEEE as the number-one state in energy efficiency, overtaking California, the perennial leader until last year. Throughout the state, mainstream and clean-tech businesses, large and small are making the private sector stronger and improving their bottom-line with clean, efficient energy.
One of the largest new solar projects in Massachusetts is now churning out power from the roof of a hulking industrial building in Hyde Park.
The Boston/Dedham Commerce Park has installed 3,300 solar panels on the roof of its building, a mixed use office space that is home to companies such as Dancing Deer Baking Co. and the nonprofit Hyde Park Open Studios.
On May 9th, the New England Clean Energy Council held its Second Annual Massachusetts Clean Energy Day at the State House in Boston. Numerous member companies representing a broad array of sectors joined NECEC for a day of meetings with legislators, and exhibited in the historic Grand Staircase. Awards were given to Sen. Jamie Eldridge and Rep. Frank Smizik for their leadership on clean energy policy issues.
